October 29, 2013 (Buenos Aires) - Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires has unveiled the final phase of a year-long USD $49 million renovation with a new summer outdoor venue "Nuestro Secreto," the first all-glass enclosed restaurant in Argentina, new CIELO Spa and seven new meetings and event spaces.
New Restaurant, "Nuestro Secreto"
Following the grand openings of the hotel's new Elena Restaurant and Pony Line Bar earlier this year, Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires is now unveiling another new gastronomic surprise, "Nuestro Secreto" (translated to "our secret.") Situated on a rooftop garden between the hotel's modern tower and historic La Mansión, the new glass lined, indoor-outdoor venue invites guests to gather for traditional, open-fire barbeques, known as asados, and features a selection of national wines, flavored lemonades, cocktails and more.
"The space is inspired by the way we all like to entertain at home in Argentina," says Rebeca Selley-Morales, general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires. "We love to gather with family and friends around a big fire, and now we can offer this to our visitors who want to experience authentic Argentinean culture, as well as locals looking for a fun night out."
The menu features a variety of salads, meats, grilled fish and seafood, and is printed on newsprint which emulates the Argentine tradition of reading the Sunday newspaper before using it to light the fire. Nuestro Secreto can be booked for private events, with room for up to 40 inside a greenhouse-like extension, plus a space for 44 people between three semi-private rooms located at the terrace.
CIELO, the new Spa of Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires
The hotel's newly renovated spa, CIELO, which means "sky" in Spanish, features striking white colors, bright lights, and is the only spa in its neighborhood with an outdoor pool surrounded by gardens. Design elements include rosewood marble floors, turquoise crystal, and metal artworks in the reception area, all of which resemble tango movements - a theme evoked throughout the hotel.
CIELO Spa features four treatment rooms, including two doubles, for facials, skin care, body and beauty treatments, hair styling and signature massages. The spa houses the most exclusive and modern fitness center in Buenos Aires, with first-floor views of the garden, pool and La Mansión. State-of-the-art equipment includes Technogym cardio machines, weight benches, and body-building racks with cutting-edge technology. Expert staff is on site with professional advisement for guests seeking personalized exercise routine.
The new changing rooms offer space to relax and unwind before or after spa treatments, and feature a distinctive relaxation area with functional music, bath amenities, bathrobes and slippers.
New Meetings and Event Spaces
Meetings and event clientele have their choice of seven new function spaces at Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, each fully equipped with cutting-edge technology and striking design concepts. Offering a combined total of 11,528 square feet of contemporary and classically designed banquet rooms, the new spaces are conveniently located on the Mezzanine level within the sleek tower.
New rooms include the Felix Ballroom that features 4,478 square feet of space, and accommodates up to 250 guests for sit-down events or 450 for receptions. The more intimate Blas room has natural light that is ideal for daytime meetings, while five additional rooms - Greta, Gricel, Margot, Piero and Valentino - complete the function spaces on the mezzanine level. The hotel also features the historic La Mansión, which can accommodate 24 to 48 at tables or up to 80 for receptions.
Argentina's passion for tango also served as the chief inspiration for the new event spaces, and is reflected in every detail including the names of the rooms. Materials including Palissandro marble, Makassar ebony, bronze, steel, stucco and black galaxy granite are featured throughout, along with colors of beige, brown, dark grey and wine-red. Decorations include abstract paintings by Argentine artists, with pictures by Aldo Sessa evoking tango movements. New equipment, lighting and audio-visual devices have also been installed, while original menus are designed by the hotel's Executive Chef Juan Gaffuri.
"From locals to corporate and social clientele, there is something for everyone in the final phase of our hotel-wide enhancements," said Selley-Morales, who last year was one of five finalists nominated for 'Hotelier of the Year' by Virtuoso. "The designers drew inspiration from Argentine culture, setting scenes that reveal the hotel's significance in Buenos Aires."
